The Building

The  last standing structure on St Louis Street departing the French Quarter  towards the historic Treme, Jewel of the South is an extraordinary enduring example of a classic Creole cottage. Built in 1835, the building and courtyard were recently renovated, transforming this  historic residence into a timeless New Orleans tavern. The work was honored with the 2020 Louisiana Landmark Society Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
